The bay of Balos is located in the northwest of Crete.

A wonderful beach, consisting of shells and corals, offers its visitors pure relaxation! Those who like a little hiking and climbing can visit the offshore Cape Tigani. From there you`ll have a fantastic view of the open sea and the island of Gramvousa.

How the get there:

The easiest and safest way is by boat from Kissamos or on foot. In the beginning of the bumpy road to the peninsula, you find a Hotel and there you can park your car safe.

With an SUV you can carefully travel the gravel road up to nearly the end of the island. Please do not park under trees as goats may climb on the cars and damage them. Anyway be careful with the car. As it is a dirt road, there is no insurance coverage or road assistance on the way to Balos!!
